Alumna story (photocopy of handwritten original and typescript) recounting experiences of Laura Stringfield Barkley as a student at the South Carolina Opportunity School run by Miss Wil Lou Gray, 1934-1942. Barkley was one of the first two South Carolinians to pass the GED [General educational development tests]. Also includes color photographic portrait of Laura Stringfield Barkley.
